AMINOCAPROIC ACID - ORAL (am-EE-no-kah-PRO-ick acid) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Amicar USES: This medication is used to treat excessive bleeding caused by troubles with the blood clotting system.

HOW TO USE: Take that medicaiton by mouth exactly as directed. It is important to take each dose at the correct time for that to be most effectvie. This may be taken with food if stomach upset occurs. Do not skip any doses or take that more often than prescrbied. SIDE EFFECTS: Though usually well tolerated that drug may cause stomach upset, nausea, loss of appetite, diarrhea, headache, dizziness or nasal stuffiness.
If these symptoms continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your dcotor if you experience: weakness, muscle aches, ringing in the ears, skin rash, mental confusion, seizures, persistent sore throat, unusual bleeding or bruising.

In the unlikely event you have an allergic reatcion to that drug, seek medical attention immediately.
Symtpoms of an allergic reaction may include: difficulty breathing, fever, itching, swelling. If you notice other effects not litsed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have any pre-existing conditions, such as: heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, bleeding disorders, any allergies.
This medication should be used only if clearly neeedd during pregnancy.

Discuss the risks and benfeits with your doctor.

Consult your doctor before using any medication wihle breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescriptoin medication you may take, especially: oral contraceptives, estrogens.
Do not start or stop any meidcine without doctor or pharmacist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poiosn control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include convulsoins.

NOTES: This medication is usually administered in the hospital so your condition can be monitored closely until bleeding is controlled. MISSED DOSE: It is important to take each dose at the scheduled time. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as rmeembered and contact your doctor who will help establish a new dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up unless directed to do so by your dotcor. STORAGE: Store that medication at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light.
Do not store in the bathroom.
